Jaipur, also known as the pink city, is India’s most culturally and historically rich, and flamboyant city. So what better way to indulge yourself than heading to Jaipur and staying at a luxurious, royal hotel that truly gives you a Rajputana feel. Fairmont Palace is just the place that gave me that.
The architectural beauty and interiors inspired by the Royal Rajputs and the Mughal dynasty makes the hotel worth staying at and offers various unforgettable scenic moments for the guests.
Since I had done my research on the place I knew what to expect but when I reached there I was amazed. I was not only impressed by the first look of the hotel, but the service also made a huge impact on the first impression.
As soon as I got there I noticed an enormous wooden door at the entrance and a traditional red carpet laid for the guests to enter. As we entered I saw a staff member showering rose petals at us from the roof of the entrance, there was a person playing a drum and a Rajasthani singer crooning ‘Padharo Maree Des’, which signifies ‘Welcome to my country’. It didn’t end there. While checking in we were welcomed personally by one of the staffs, who put a raaj tilak on our forehead and served us a welcome drink.
The property is spread over 305 acres and comprises 199 rooms, which includes lavish suites with jaw-dropping interiors. Features that make Fairmont different from an ordinary 5-star hotel are its timber doors, camel bone inlaid furniture, poster beds, private foyers, vaulted ceilings and bed linens, etc.
For me, the best part about the room was the bathroom. The bathtub in there is the biggest, most royal tub I’ve seen and we made optimum use of the full-length mirror to take a million selfies. Like any other 5 hotel, Fairmont offers a city view and pool view. I’d recommend going for the later, from where you get an incredible view of the entire property surrounded by lush green hills.
After freshening up we went to the hotel’s all- dining restaurant Zoya, where we amazed by the wide spread buffet of the Indian and International cuisines. We also tried the authentic Rajasthani cuisine, which was delicious. There’s also an Indo-Persian restaurant called Zarin, which is quite impressive in terms of the food quality and décor.
Another interesting thing about the hotel is that it consists of various different common rooms where guests can hang out or chill. For instance, the regal library bar called Aza, where you can find a varied collection of books on mythology, literature and history. Another room is dim lit space called Cigar Diwan, which is relatively smaller and is designed in a way where guests can spend a quiet evening.
Once we finished our lunch, we went back to our rooms and relaxed for a bit and after we woke up it was time to go for a swim. The sight from the pool is just phenomenal. From one side you get a beautiful architectural view of the hotel and on the other side you can see a white domed shaped structure, which looks magnificent. It is a perfect picture spot for the guests.
Oh, also the hotel is ideal for a royal Indian wedding. I went to check out the banquet halls in the hotel and they have got a very different royal vibe to it. If you’re planning a dream wedding, you know where to go now.
Rated as a luxury hotel, Fairmont will definitely not disappoint you in terms of the stay but what makes it different from the other hotels in Jaipur is the warm and impressive five-star service, whether it is the front desk or room service. It’s incredible!
I am sharing few of my images from the property. The hotel is filled with amazing backdrops.
